Joy, Rapture and Similar

Oh yoj! Oh rapture! Glory to Mykos in the highest and fleece to his sheep-le on earth!

My computer game is finished!

This is excellent because:

1) It's 387K and so longer than everything other work I've completed, bar one. (And I wrote that in 1994, and this is more complicated, as it's code as opposed to prose, and, I would hope, slightly more sophisticated than my twelve-year-old ramblings.)

2) I started writing it in early April, and I thought I'd long ago lost the ability to see anything non-academic through to its completion if it was taking over ten days. I completed my last novella in 1999 in less than ten days, and the previous three were all written in two even more intense stretches, and I haven't completed a creative project that's taken me more than a *day* since then. W00t! Who's got the sk1llz?

I've still got about half of it to proof-play (which should take about five hours, judging by the first, more complex, half) and then I've got to have other people beta-test it, and then I'll surely have bugs to fix. But! The battle is truly over! The game is now on its way to its first non-Zed player (Alex, as it's his birthday today - I hope, worry worry - and he had to put up with me complaining about it being pants for many an hour) and it won't be long before I can share the fruits of my labours with the world. Yay!
